Not every contractor wants to scale (or scale to the same level). That’s fine. It’s your business. What you do with it is… your business.
But I talk to a lot of contractors who DO want the RESULTS of scaling:
– Work less
– Predictable income
– Take 2-3 wks off without chaos
– Have jobs sold (or even new hires made) while they’re gone
That’s all possible. But only if you’re building something scalable.
If you don’t want to scale, cool. But if you do want those results and you aren’t doing what’s required to get there… that’s where you gotta ask yourself:
“Do I want this bad enough to do what it takes to get there? Even when it pushes me way past my comfort zone?”
MOST of the time (notice I said most… that means there are some exceptions… but it also means you probably aren’t the exception)
MOST of the time, contractors who want to scale need to:
– Prequalify less so they can see more leads
– Stop charging for the initial site visit
– Build a simple, repeatable sales process that closes 25–30%+ of free site visits
– Offer no-brainer financing options to neutralize price objections before they come up
– Sell face-to-face only
– Systematize fulfillment so others can run it for you
– Implement systems to predictably turn every job into 3–5 more to cut your CAC and boost ROI
If you want to hit $2M+ and NOT be needed either at the job site OR at the kitchen table… then you’ve gotta build & optimize for that. It doesn’t happen by accident. You don’t “grow” into it. You build it, strategically
If you’re happy closing every sale or working every job, that’s cool!
Your business isn’t scaleable, which does make it inherently riskier & less stable, but that’s your decision to make.
However, if you WANT to scale so jobs run smoothly without you and jobs get closed consistently without you…
Then you have to focus on more than just growth. You have to focus on implementing proven processes and effective systems that OTHER people can learn and run for you.
As far as how we help…
There are several things that are out of our scope. As of now, we can’t help you systematize your fulfillment. We can’t help you build a simple pricing model. Hopefully one day but not today.
What we DO help our contractor clients with is:
– Capturing more leads & better leads through effective marketing
– Increasing your close rate by strengthening your sales process (from lead intake to post appointment follow up, including long-term nurturing)
– Helping you multiply every job into 3-5 more (through referrals, repeat jobs, and reviews)
– Helping you efficiently grow your team
– Helping you create a team culture that fosters buy-in
All of that results in more revenue & better profit margins.
And with more retained earnings, you can then invest into more help to fix whatever issues we personally can’t help you fix.
Whether you no longer wanna be needed at every job site or every kitchen table or every interview…
If I can help, I’ll show you how. If not, I’ll happily point you to someone who can.
