About Mill Creek Marketing

It started with somebody else’s backyard.

We only work with outdoor living companies. Here’s why, and who you’d be working with.

Savannah Gresham grew up in a house her parents bought for the backyard. Somebody before them had put in the pool, the hardscape and the landscaping. It’s where everything happened: pool parties, birthday parties, a friend’s wedding.

Years later, she found out the man who owned the house before them had hired an outdoor living company to build it. She never met them. Her family got to live in what they built.

“I’m thankful for that guy. I’m thankful that dude decided to hire some contractor that I’ll never meet, some company that did an awesome job.”

Savannah Gresham, founder

She started Mill Creek with a marketing and writing background, a husband working in contracting, and a baby on the way. She chose outdoor living because of that backyard.

Everybody said they needed more leads.

So that’s what Mill Creek delivered at first. Pipelines filled up, and it still wasn’t enough. Leads came in that never booked. Appointments got booked that never closed.

The difference showed up after the form. Owners who called back in minutes and presented the price in person were closing deals. Owners who called back days later and emailed their quotes were getting ghosted.

So Mill Creek started building the marketing and the sales process together. That became the 4C Contractor Scaling System. See how it works →

Somebody who’s sat at the kitchen table.

The marketing was working. The gap was after the lead: no proven sales process. Savannah wanted someone on the team who had sold a project in a homeowner’s living room.

Rex Andrews bootstrapped his own gym and learned marketing because the bills depended on it. Then he went into outside sales: real estate, then in-home sales for contractors. Before Mill Creek, he worked at one of the largest marketing companies in the country and watched it care more about selling the customer than getting the customer results. Now he works with our clients’ teams on the sales side, objection by objection.

“I viewed sales from a process-oriented place. I saw private equity and large businesses take anyone off the street and turn them into a closer, and I obsessed over the process they used to make that happen.”

A process your whole team can run beats waiting on a born closer.

What we believe.

  1. We only win if you win. Our goal is for you to make so much money you can trace back to us that it makes no sense to stop working together.
  2. People buy from people they know, like and trust. Platforms change. Why people buy never has.
  3. The price belongs in person. Quotes sent by email get ghosted.
  4. The process should close the deal. If sales only work when one person is in the room, the business stops when that person takes a week off.
  5. Nail it, then scale it. Get one thing working, prove it with real numbers, then add the next.

We don’t work with competing businesses. We want you to win as big as you can win, and we can’t say that while working for the company across town. Outdoor living companies in your city that don’t compete with you are fine.

“Mill Creek Marketing has been the best experience I have ever had with a marketing company in my 28 years of being in business.”

Tony McCormack, Above & Beyond

“They truly become an extension to your team, holding meetings, keeping you accountable and making goals alongside you as if they are theirs.”

Katie Coffman, Top Dog Construction

“We genuinely consider them an extension of our team and a trusted partner in both our marketing and sales efforts.”
